Weather in Lanzarote

The Canary Islands are a Spanish archipelago, off the West Coast of Morocco. Lanzarote, the fourth largest of the islands, is the farthest east and enjoys a mild, sunny climate and decent weather all year round. The temperature runs from around 82°F (28°C) during the day to a low around 63°F (17°C). The sea breeze can, at times, be rather chilly, particularly in the winter.

Lanzarote stays warm in the evenings until winter, when the sea temperatures drop and the breeze picks up. April and October are the rainy months, with little or none occurring during the summer. Because of the cooler evenings in December, January, and February, it is wise to bring some warmer clothes during those months.

Always carry plenty of sun protection with you to this sunny climate. You will be able to get a good tan all year round, if you protect yourself from burning, so always use some form of suntan lotion.

The weather in Lanzarote is determined by the trade winds over the Azores and the warm airflow from the Sahara desert. These two influences help to keep the stable temperatures that you will enjoy whenever you travel there.

While outdoor activities in the rest of Europe grind to a halt in the winter, you will still be enjoying spring-like weather on the charming, volcanic island of Lanzarote. You will be sunning on the beach during the day and enjoying the night life or walking along the ocean promenade wearing a light jacket in the evening.
